The WBU’s Associated Institutions and Associates Network (AIAN)

The Associated Institutions and Associates Network (AIAN) is a Network composed of Institutions (including organizations and centres) as well as individual Associates (Buddhist scholars, teachers and leaders) who are committed to preserving, promoting and applying Buddhist teachings. In cooperation with the WBU they will engage in developing Buddhist research, spiritual practice, training/curriculum, and education. To join this Network, the organization’s program or the individual must participate in the study and/or practice of Buddhism as a major activity.

For Institutions, there are three levels of membership, A,B or C, which are based on the extent of the developed program, capacity and current level of self-sufficiency. Individual Associates must be scholars, teachers or leaders of Buddhism.
